WHO WE ARE
Paul Spite is the president of Focal Point Media, Inc. A storyteller by inclination, he has honed his skills with children on his lap, junior high children in class, and attendees in faith based drug classes and jail services. He has written and produced forty-eight plays and skits, one novel, nine screenplays, and two collections of short stories. Three years have been spent acquiring knowledge of various aspects of and professionals involved in producing faith based films.
A graduate of Ball State University, Paul is a licensed architect by trade. By inclination, he is a seeker of knowledge. He possesses a deep interest in both science and biblical truth, believing both are valid paths to understanding our world. Some of his writing can be found at www.paulspite.com
He lives with his wife Sally in Cookeville, TN, where he occasionally enjoys the company of three children, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Not counting the furry ones.

This short film was produced from a screenplay that was awarded 'Audience Choice' in a 168 'Write of Passage' competition. It was produced by Mark Baird.
Phil DePriest is the technical director for Focal Point Media, Inc. Besides spending twenty years as Senior Pastor at Pentecostals of Murfreesboro, Phil has an extensive background in freelance video work and direct employment with various studios. Initially working in industrial television for HCA, Phil spent six years as Chief Engineer with Jim Owens productions in Nashville. There he helped produce 2000 shows. He was instrumental in bringing studios online with daily live shows, and was involved in starting a television station. Phil also worked with all the major networks at some point producing college and professional sports, daily shows and Network Specials.
In his freelance work, Phil has provided audio and video engineering and production services since 1982. He has worked in six countries and for artists such as Bob Hope and Ray Stevens. Recent work has included twenty years of set-up for large religious conventions and events where he has been responsible for sound, video recording, large screen magnification, lighting and set design.
Phil recently has been elevated to a Bishop in the Pentecostal faith and his responsibilities extend to congregations both regional and national. He uses part of his spare time to help develop songwriters from his personal audiovisual studio.
Robert DePriest is the vice-president of Focal Point Media, Inc.. He grew up with an extensive early background in performing arts, including music, competitive extemporaneous speaking, debate, and verbal essays. He produced video documentaries for churches and directed and produced direct-to-video events for several years. These led to writing, directing, and producing live drama performances, in which he is still actively involved. Besides writing training materials and sermons, Bob wrote opinion editorials for a local paper. He still writes as a free-lance journalist, published in local and regional periodicals.
Bob’s college years found him at Gateway College in St. Louis where he studied theology for two years. He also traveled with their singing group, as a vocalist and audio technician.
Bob and his wife Debi live in Smithville, TN. They enjoy lively political discussions, traveling, and riding motorcycles through the beauty of the mountains. Bob hopes to continue riding, and writing for many years. “There is nothing I enjoy more than finding new ways to share the Greatest Story Ever Told. Whether in narrative or parable form, this is the story most worth telling,”
Paul Cookson is the sales agent and a producer for Focal Point Media, Inc. He worked as an Associate Producer/Producer and Director of Shoots for Teen TV with Hart Hanks, Inc./KENS TV in San Antonio. He worked on all aspects of the show, from producing to marketing. He also worked for USAA Insurance Corporation as a Media Resource Freelancer. That work again involved all aspects of the business, including set up for an in-house news show, location shoots, studio camera operation, sound, lighting, set design, and make-up. He is a partner in Blue Wind Media, television, film, and music production concept and development. He has acted in commercials and various small roles in movies. Paul co-wrote the screenplay for “Where I Met You” with Paul Spite.
Paul graduated from San Antonio College with an A.D. in Radio, TV, and Film Communications. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, TV, and Film at the University of Texas at San Antonio
Cookson currently resides in Spring Hill, TN with his wife Ginger and his daughter. Paul is a professional drummer and plays in Bill Anderson’s band. He has also just published his first book, “The Stay@Home Dad.”
Samuel Sullivan works as a photographer for Focal Point Media, Inc.. Still in high school, Samuel has already directed and produced his first short film, as well as producing numerous video projects for his church. Active in the ROTC at school, he has begun assuming leadership roles at church as well. We look forward to participating in Samuel’s growth as an individual and as a cinematographer.
